Thank you Mr Elston

Freya's had a fantastic teacher for year 5, and to say thank you to him for the wonderful inspiration, care and dedication to his class, we bought him a rather nice bottle of red wine.  Me being me, couldn't just give it away with the bog standard label on now, could I?  So I tarted, tweaked and fancied it up and this is the result.  What do you think?

All papers are from my colour scrap packs and the letters are cut on the Sizzix Big Shot using Tim Holtz dies.

Finished a project

I started to make a lovely acrylic hanger whilst at Kirsty's in mid December.  It was all finished apart from the photo and has been hanging from my notice board since I got home.  I was looking through some photos yesterday to scrap when I came across an adorable one of Freya taken when she was 25 months old.  I just had to use it; can you see why I love it so much?

I just had to add the bling around her and some punched circles to scallop the edge of the photo to mirror the scalloped acrylic.

I HATE flash photography for my cards & projects.  I may have to take this one again in daylight and replace it.

Materials (all courtesy of Kirsty's studio - THANK YOU!)

Clear acrylic frame.
Cardstock: Bazzil Bling
I can't believe they're not brads (Clever Cuts)
Acrylic flower and butterflies from Kirsty's stash.
Bling around the pics from MY stash.

Altered wooden letter

I bought this plain unfinished wooden letter for 99p in a sale recently for Freya's bedroom.

She's recently had it redecorated, so I tarted it up to go in her new 'big girl's' room!

The papers came from Bubbly Funk as part of a monthly kit. The large, cream bloom is from Bazzil, the brown Angel Bloom is from Bubbly Funk. Small flower from Prima. Ribbon from Ribbon Mad and the brad from stash. Ink pad is a Cats Eye Chalk.

Happy Birthday Karen!

A very lovely lady called Karen, who I look on as a friend, celebrated a special birthday on 11th March. This was her card and her little CD book/album that I made for her.

All papers were from BasicGrey Two Scoops - yummy papers indeed! I know that she's got it so I can blog it now!

Birthday Book

I was asked to make a book for a friend's mum's 80th birthday and a folder of old photographs duly arrived along with a few notes on personal details and colour preferences etc.

Very reluctant to use the original photos dating back to 1948, I scanned them all in and had a quick play using PSE6. I didn't want to make them perfect so that they retained their aged character. I added text over the top of some of the photos before I printed them out.

The album cover papers were from DCWV with all internal patterned papers coming from Paper Mania. Embellishments were from Prima, Dunelm, We Are Memory Keepers, Ribbon Mad, Autumn Leaves (Rhonna Farrer) and Stamps Away.

Diaries - 2008

These were once plain, basic, black covered diaries. They're now slightly more feminine.

One is a week to a day to keep track of my crafty commitments etc, the other is a page a day for work.

Papers are DCWV, the blooms are from Dunelm. Alphas cut with Sizzix Curlie Girlie and the swirl is from Bubbly Funk.

Bubbly Funk - Secret Santa

This is what I made for Ellen in the Secret Santa swap over on Bubbly Funk

Ellen wanted an address book. Her stiplulation was a categorical NO PINK to be included!!!!!! I was tempted, but then I found my halo and decided not to be naughty. So I wrote the tag in PINK instead! LOL

Hope you like it Ellen. Merry Christmas!

Altered Calendar

Received a rather boring calendar for next year the other day at work. I mean, look at it?! It was just itching to be altered, and who was I to be so rude as to ignore it's little plea to make it nice...? LOL

Papers are SEI Hippie Chick, bloom from Dunelm, flowers from Prima. Alphas cut using the Sizzix Curlie Girlie font.

Canvasses

I was asked to make a sign with his name on for my boss' son's friend, Seb. Instead I decided to make him a canvas to hang on his wall. The canvas is 12x12" which is covered in SEI paper. Lettering is cut from Sizzix dies. Chipboard accents from We Are Memory Keepers.

This led onto making one for my boss' son, Lewis too.

The backing card is Bazill Bling (lush!). The 'Coffee Bean' is from stash bought in a sale a couple of years back. Lettering again cut with a Sizzix die. The chipboard arrow is covered in some embossed script paper, triple clear embossed and edged with gold krylon. I also edged the Coffee Been paper with the krylon to make it a little 'rustic'

Catch up...

It's been a while since I blogged and I have a few projects that I've made that need blogging....

This is for the Secret Santa swap over on Bubbly Funk. Can't show you the whole 'book' obviously as Santa is yet to deliver it!

I'll have to check where the papers came from as I've had them a while. The chipboard heart is from Maya Road, which is inked then triple embossed and edged with gold Krylon.

This is for Freya's friend, who'll be 7 tomorrow. Obviously, her name is Charlotte! In it is a hand knitted scarf from that lovely fluffy wool that's around.

Papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug. The patterned flower is cut using a Sizzix die. Lettering is Curly Girlie alphas from Ellison. Bloom from Sarah's Cards.

Altered Coffee.....

I bought some lovely Basic Grey 'Urban Couture' papers from Bubbly Funk recently as I thought they were so lovely. I'd been saving my Dowe Egberts coffee jars as I love the size and shape of them. At the weekend when I was shopping in Tesco I came across a lovely size and shape of filter coffee in a tin (Twinings) I just knew that I NEEDED that tin, as well as the coffee I suppose!

I sat down on Saturday to alter my jars and tins using the Basic Grey paper.

I even used the dreaded peel offs (aarrgggghhh!!!) to label them. I have used the tin for buttons and three of the jars so far for Prima flowers, brads and threads. I have yet to fill the empty fourth jar. Hopefully I've got enough paper left over to decorate some Prima bottles that I've got too as I love the shape of these. If not, I'm off to Caroline's shoppie for a visit...! ;-)
