PaperPlay Challenges Wk17

Sponsorship this week on PaperPlay Challenge Blog is from Waltzingmouse Stamps who are generously giving 1 stamp set of winner's choice.

Your challenge is to use an object not intended for Crafting... Like Coins, Cans/Jars, Onion or Garlic Netted Bags, Shells, Cardboard box bits etc.

I was a little bit naughty on this challenge as my altered item IS something normally associated with crafting (in my eyes anyway) as it's an empty chocolate box and we all know that chocolate and crafting go hand in hand..... don't we?

The empty box was filled with gorgeous milk and plain truffles that my children bought me for Mothers' Day.  Best bit was that no-one else in the house actually liked them!!!!!!!

I have another of these boxes (though slightly smaller) that I altered and made a couple of years back but was in desperate need of another to store my increasing supply of ink pads in.

Creative ingredients:
Box; Chocolates - Paper; to be confirmed) - Alphas; Tim Holtz Grungeboard - Inkpads: Versamagic, Quick Quotes & ColorBox - Glitter; Stickles - Buttons - Twill

Said I was dozy...

The theme on Rosie-Dee's this week is 'Bows and Arrows' and we are sponsored by The Cutting Cafe with some fantastic digi images.

I made my card and, even though I don't do girlie grunge, I really like what I created. I have two arrows and a big pink bow. BUT NO BLOODY CUTTING CAFE IMAGE IN SIGHT!

I need a holiday I think LOL.

Materials:
White 6"x6" card.
Papers: All old offcuts from stash.
Inkpad: Dewdrop Brilliance Inkpad in black and pink.
Skull & arrows: Grungeboard.
Clear embossing powder.
Sentiment: Computer generated.
Ribbon: Ribbon Mad.

Rosie-Dee's Challenge - Week 47

BEACH!!!!! That was the theme this week over on Rosie-Dee's Challenge Blog. I trawled back through holiday photos to find this one of Jacob & Freya on the Isle of Wight a few years back - sorry kids! HAHA! I wanted to keep my colours simple... sand & sea so I altered the photograph to a sepia tone as Freya's wearing the brightest pink cozzie you've ever seen!

Materials:
Ivory pearlescent 6"x12" cardstock.
Mulberry paper: Stash.
Ribbon: QVC Outlet (Thanks Elaine!)
Lettering, arrow & swirl: Grungeboard.
Ink: Pretty Colours.
Glitter: Stickles.
Gems: Hero Arts & Patti's Pretties.
Paper: DCWV.

Papers: BasicGrey Phoebe.
Flowers: Prima.
Buttons: Stash.
Ribbon: Debbi Moore.
Stamped greeting: Tim Holtz.

Old photo, new layout

I know that I've scrapped this photo of my in-laws' wedding before, but I gave this one a new look using a Tim Holtz Grunge Board which I painted in copper acrylic paint. Neither of Will's parents are with us anymore so there isn't an opportunity to scrap any new photographs and we have pretty much no other photograph of them either as they were all lost years ago (not by us, I hasten to add!)

The stamps were from Autumn Leaves and Stamps Away and the chipboard hart is from Maya Road.
