Family page

This photo was taken of me and my two wonderful kids on Hayling Island in July 2006.

I just love the bright sunshine and clear blue sky, so typical of that holiday.

The blue cardstock is DCWV white core (and for once I didn't distress it to reveal the core!) The scalloped circle I love was a Rhonna Farrer. The black chipboard is Cosmo Cricket - this stuff is GREAT!!!! I just tarted it up a touch with a silver metallic pen. Adding a little doodling to finish it off. Ribbons from Ribbon Mad

Di Hickman - February Sketch #4

This is my final week as Guest Sketch Team Member for Di Hickman. I've really enjoyed producing these cards for Di, so a huge THANK YOU goes out to her for giving me the chance to be part of her card sketch team this month. Thanks Di!!! xxx

The word background paper is from SEI Hippie Chick and the green was a Christmas paper from Rhonna Farrer but I though the green went pretty well with some of the lettering. I die cut two flowers using a Sizzix die and doodled round the edges. The 'fun' chipboard word came from Bubbly Funk. The ribbon was from Ribbon Mad.

Birthday Girl!

There is a certain young lady in our household who is celebrating her 7th birthday today! Bless her little cottons, she is sooo excited, but only wanted to open her cards before going to school as she wants to 'have time to look at her pressies properly' so is leaving them until she comes home.

After the immense problems with her during my pregnancy, I cannot believe that 7 years have passed and that my daughter has grown into the beautiful young lady that she is. I am such a proud mummy (daddy's proud too, of course!) and we are so lucky to have her in our family.

So here is my 7 year old daughter...

And here is her card! (Apparently this is the nicest card that anyone has ever made for her..... awwwww!)

Paper was from 3 Bugs in a Rug, ribbon from stash. Lettering and number cut on the Big Shot with the Curlie Girlie die. Hearts cut with Bigz die and mounted on to some thin chipboard to raise one of them. Finished of with a lil' bit of doodling.

Di Hickman - October Sketch #5

My interpretation of Di Hickman's October Sketch #5 is this...

Papers were from SEI Hippie Chick range. The chipboard frame is embossed with red then double embossed with UTEE and finished with 2 gold brads. I used a peel off for the greeting (all those who know me know that I actually HATE peel offs but decided to use one just because!) A little doodling finished it off.

DCM - And Cut!

This week its Tracie setting the dare and it is to make a card and CUT!

Any theme goes, so for those of you needing a break from Christmas crafting this is the perfect opportunity to have a change. All styles are welcome but there MUST be an element of handcutting somewhere. It could be a greeting, a shape, letters printed on your pc and handcut, anything goes as long as you did it by hand.

I decided to go 'simple' for this week's dare as it's really how I feel at the mo! My befuzzled brain is definately not up to too much of a challenge! LOL.

The background was water-coloured with H2O lookie likies. I drew the silhouette by hand on the reverse of some black card and then hand cut it out. With a silver pen, I added doodling round the edge of the 'houses' and hand wrote a greeting along the bottom. The 'Happy Birthday' was done using a letter stencil onto some black card. This was cut out and matted onto a leftover piece of the background offcut.

Di Hickman - October Sketch #3

I've really missed doing my dares recently and never seem to get the time to chill and create, so I'm making an extra special point of doing them. So, saying that I'm on catch up now!

This dare from Di Hickman was from October 17th, so I'm not too late with it. I am later with other dares, I can assure you! LOL)

I wanted to do something with different colours than I would normall use so went for the beige and orange look. The pp is from The English Paper Company with the beige squares from Bazzil cardstock. The cream blooms was from Bubbly Funk and the orange cut with my Sizzix die and then inked up. The small cream is a Prima and was finished with a button and ribbon from stash. The photo corner was from All My Memories. Stamp from Penny Black. I doodled around the edge of the white card with black pen to mirror the effect on the paper.

Di Hickman - October Sketch #2

Still playing catch up! LOL.

Again the orange and yellow papers were from the lovely Kathy (thanks again honey!) The yellow flower was from Sarah's Cards and the smaller orange was from Prima. Brad and eyelets from stash as was the spotty vellum. The stamp Penny Black.

DCM - Circle of Friends

The subject is, as in our original dare "friends", but this time the title is
CIRCLE of FRIENDS and we'd like you to incorporate at least one circle into your card.

I used different sized circles to draw around lightly in pencil then I used my Silent Setter to cut randomly different sized holes around the circles. I then added a couple of brads through the smallest holes. Prima flowers were centred with gold flowered brads. I doodled handwriting relating to circles and added a handwritten saying along the bottom before chalking with pinks and greens. The front of the card was then backed with gold paper to show through the holes.
