This was Freya's second birthday present to me...

Freya had said she had two presents for me today.  The first being my cake pan and this being the second...

We'd been talking about getting her waist length hair cut for some time now but she was never quite 100% sure if she wanted to get it done.  I was going to the hairdressers tonight anyway and she wanted to come with me to have hers done.  I must admit I wasn't 100% sure if she'd go through with it either.  I knew it would really suit her and make her look so grown up.

I was right!!!  Lorraine tied it in a pony tail and cut 8" straight off it before tidying the ends up and drying it.  I think she looks even more beautiful and grown up now.  It was a lovely surprise for her Grandma when we called in on our way home so that she could show it off, as it has been kept a secret from both her and Grandad at Freya's request.  Grandad won't see it until he collects her from school tomorrow as he was out at a meeting tonight and Grandma is now sworn to secrecy until then.

Freya told me she meant to say 'Happy Birthday Mummy' when it was finished but was so caught up in her new look that she totally forgot.  Needless to say, there was some considerable time spent in front of the mirror tonight swishing, brushing, combing and playing with the new hairdo when we got home.

Well, they say that life begins at 40 don't they? As I was 40 last month, I've decided to go for a new hairdo! I made an appointment yesterday for this afternoon without telling anyone except my boss as I was going to the hairdressers in work time.

When I went, I looked like this....



Came back again looking a bit like this....



I'm hoping the new hairdo is an improvement!!!! The reaction so far...

My 'she' boss loves it - her hubby, being a man - what can I say?! But he DID notice it!!!!

Sent a picture message to Will's phone. The text that came back was WTF?! When I rang him, he said he was reserving judgement until he saw it 'in the flesh' and when he did, he loved it!

Freya laughed at me when I picked her up from mum and dad's after work today and told me it looked freaky! She now likes it though.

Jacob HATES it!!!!! He didn't like it last time I had it cut as I had loads cut off and this time is even worse.

I was talking to my lovely friend Steph on MSN tonight and she gracefully said it makes me look 10 years younger - no wonder I loves that girl! LOL

The reaction from the lovely ladeees at Bubbly Funk has so far been positive.

New look me!

Yesterday I had the notion that my hair was a mess and that I needed a change, so I rang my hairdressers and got an appointment with one of the girls at 9.30 this morning. Off I popped to meet 'the new me' An hour and £30 later I emerged with a new haircut. It's loads shorter than it was and I have a light fringe again for the first time in years. I hadn't told Will I was going; the first he knew about it was when I text him a photo through. His reaction....?! Not printable! LOL He loves it though. Jacob thinks I look like a secretary that talks on the phone all day and Freya thinks I look like an accountant. They both think I look younger which is fine by me!

I had put a semi permanent colour on it two weeks ago as I was tired and bored of the hightlights and wanted a darker, autumn/winter colour. This is more like my own natural colour now (apart from the grey bits, they're not natural but placed strategically to make me look mature and sensible!)

So... this is me now!
